If you’re wondering how you can help someone in need this holiday season, Baton Rouge has multiple community refrigerators seeking donations.
The city’s two “community fridges” are located at 2303 Government St. and 1600 Government St.
The Instagram account BRCommunityFridge provides more information about requested donation items.
Those include water & non-alcoholic beverages, sealed, labeled, and dated homemade meals, hygiene items, and baby & pet items, among others.
A video on their Instagram page also provides instructions on how people can clean the refrigerators on their own time to add a little elbow grease to the holiday-giving spirit.
Those fridges are operated by Yes We Cannibal, which formed in 2021 immediately following Hurricane Ida and The Red Shoes.
