After a deadly tornado ripped through St. Bernard Parish in New Orleans on March 22, 2022, several firefighters from the Baton Rouge area stepped up to go help their fellow firefighter family down south.
About 30 members from the Urban Search & Rescue Task Force 2 left around 10pm on March 22nd. That includes firefighters from Baton Rouge, Zachary, Central & West Feliciana.

A tornado seen from miles away ripped through Arabi as a very strong line of storms passed through Louisiana. One person died and several others were injured. Crews spent the evening hours and will spend all of March 23rd helping their fellow firefighters in the search & rescue missions.
It’s a brotherhood to step up and help your fellow firefighters anytime any community needs help. The USAR Task Force 2 has never shied away from stepping up immediately to go help other states after natural disasters. This time, it’s our own neighbors in need.
