It’s why the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is now asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman who is wanted for passing counterfeit money and shoplifting.

TPSO says detectives are investigating “several incidents” at the Dollar General Store on Wardline Road in Hammond. Officials say on August 9, 2023, the woman caught on camera entered the store shortly before 5:30pm carrying an empty backpack.
TPSO said in a release that the store employees noticed the woman making several trips to and from her vehicle before making a single purchase, they started reviewing the security camera footage. That’s when the store employees learned the woman was allegedly filling the backpack with numerous school supplies such as notebooks and pencils.
The woman was seen wearing a tye-dyed shirt with yellow leggings, and appears to be wearing sunglasses.
According to store employees, the same woman came into the store several weeks prior and paid for a Cashapp card with three one-hundred dollar bills, all of which turned out to be counterfeit.
