DENHAM SPRINGS — From grocery stores to car repair shops to restaurants, Denham Springs is preparing for a wave of new businesses. As UWK reported in July, Livingston Parish is booming with development, and much of that growth is landing in Denham Springs.
UWK has learned Caliber Collision, a national automotive repair chain, has applied for a construction permit for a new location next to Home Depot. According to Denham Springs City Clerk Buffy Anderson, the company secured all necessary approvals, including civil, landscaping, and other requirements, before the permit was issued.
Another project underway is Sushi Ninja, located at 121 Bass Pro Blvd. Construction continues on the all-you-can-eat sushi, hibachi, and hot pot restaurant. The business announced on Facebook that its sign was installed in mid-September, and it is nearing a soft opening.
The city’s business list also shows progress on a new hot yoga studio at 1160 Hatchell Lane. According to Facebook updates, the studio, Yoga Studio 90, is scheduled to open on October 10.
Anderson also provided UWK with an update on the highly anticipated Aldi coming to the Rushing Road and Range Avenue area. She said the grocery chain passed its framing inspection in mid-September and has now been cleared to begin sheetrock installation. The only inspections left are the above-ceiling check and the final inspection. Once those are complete, Aldi can move forward with its occupancy permit and officially open.
Denham Springs is also set to get its first full-service hospital. Last October, Baton Rouge General and Parish President Randy Delatte announced plans for the new facility, which will be located off Juban Road near I-12. The hospital is expected to open in 2027.
