NEW ROADS — One man was arrested after allegedly shooting at his own father during an argument at the Taco Bell in New Roads.
Police say Taven Gibson, 31, is being charged with illegal discharge of a firearm and attempted second-degree murder.
The incident happened on Saturday, Aug. 17 around 9 p.m. Pointe Coupee Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux tells UWK that the father was arguing with Gibson about his granddaughter when Gibson pulled out a gun and allegedly fired two shots at his father.
The father was not injured by any of the shots.
Deputies and New Roads Police responded to the scene within minutes and Gibson was arrested immediately.
