Multiple people were shot and injured in a shooting that took place overnight on Friday, Oct. 21st. Initially, it was said nine were injured and then police said two more showed up at a hospital bringing the total number of victims to 11.
It happened during a fraternity party off of Southern University’s campus on Harding Blvd. Seven people in total were transported to area hospitals while two more went to hospitals on their own.
The campus was shut down as officers responded and tried to figure out what happened.
Multiple officers had to respond to the scene after officers who were working extra duty reported that multiple people had been shot.
Multiple shell casings were found. It’s still unclear what led up to the shooting.
The initial nine people injured range in ages from 18-23. Two of the victims are 18, two are 19, one is 20, one is 21, two are 22 and one is 23.
One person was taken into custody for questioning.
