Officer-involved shooting on Highland Rd.

Two Baton Rouge Police officers have been placed on administrative leave, as per normal procedure, after an officer-involved shooting Saturday night.

It happened at the Hub Apartments on Highland Rd. near Lee Rd. around 7:30pm as officers were responding to a call for an “emotionally disturbed person.”

While on scene, officers heard shots fired and saw a man pointing a gun at them. That’s when an officer fired his gun hitting the man in the upper body.

Two people were transported to hospitals. One of them was the victim who appears to have a non-life threatening injury.

The second victim was an officer, but his injury is not a gunshot wound. The officer was not shot.
