Officers investigating homicide outside Triple S

Baton Rouge Police Officers are investigating a deadly shooting that happened outside the Triple S Food Mart.

It happened around 8:30pm on Jan. 4th on N. Foster Dr.

As of now, it appears officers responded to a man shot multiple times outside the store. By the time officials arrived, the man had died.

His name has not been released at this time.

This is the first homicide of 2023. The Triple S shooting is the fourth shooting of the day on Wednesday in Baton Rouge. It comes after 10 shootings the first three days of the new year.

Just before the Triple S shooting, officers were on two separate shooting scenes that may be connected.

It was around 8pm on Lobdell Blvd. where a man was shot. About 10-15 minutes later, officers responded to another shooting near Banks & Evangeline for shots fired.

Then around 4pm on California St., there were about 25 rounds fired at a vehicle. A person in the car was injured when he took a bullet to his side. Plus, officers found rifle rounds on the scene as well.
