Officials investigating shooting in the Skate Galaxy parking lot in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple shots fired and one person injured at the corner of Jefferson Hwy. & Pecue Ln.

It happened just around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, March 18. Early reports are the occupants in two vehicles got into a shootout in the Skate Galaxy parking lot and then fled.

Multiple shell casings and traces of blood were found in the Skate Galaxy parking lot but it appears the victim made it to the nearby gas station. That’s when EMS responded and transported that victim to a hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Officials say preliminary reports indicate the parties ran on foot and there could be another person injured with a non-life threatening shooting, who possibly went to Woman’s Hospital. Detectives are attempting to locate all individuals involved at this time.

No further details have been provided at this time and no details yet on what led up to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
