WHITE CASTLE — An argument from the night before is what Iberville deputies say led up to a woman allegedly driving into a crowd and injuring another woman.
The incident, which was caught on video and sent to UWK, happened around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 29th in White Castle, but the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
UWK has learned Jeremeisha Johnson had an argument with a woman on Saturday night and on Sunday, was among a crowd when deputies say she first left the scene in her vehicle but less than a minute later, turned around and drove back to the crowd, driving over a woman while going at a high rate of speed. The video shows the vehicle leaving the scene after hitting the woman.
IPSO says the woman who was injured is not the woman Johnson had the argument with. Instead, she was a bystander in the crowd.
Johnson was arrested and booked on March 29 on the charges of attempted second-degree murder and hit-and-run (serious injury or death).
The victim’s status is unknown at this time.
