BATON ROUGE — An 18-year-old has been arrested in a June shooting that killed one person and injured another.
Traylon Duncan, 18, was booked Thursday with principal to second-degree murder and obstruction of justice by tampering with evidence, according to booking records.
The shooting on June 28 in the 7000 block of Blue Grass Drive killed 19-year-old Kaleb Stampley. Police said another person showed up a hospital with a gunshot wound from the same crime.
Police found video surveillance of the shooting. It showed Stampley meeting someone in a dark blue Toyota Corolla that stopped in the street just before 7 p.m., Duncan’s arrest warrant said.
Someone in the back passenger seat of the Toyota shot Stampley and two people on street fired back at the Toyota, the warrant said.
Investigators were able to track down the vehicle’s owner, who told them Duncan had permission to use the car at the time of the shooting. They also found the car, which had bullet holes in it, the warrant said.
The car matched the description of one that dropped off someone with a gunshot wound at a hospital shortly after the shooting, Duncan’s warrant said.
The investigation of the shooting is ongoing, police said.
Duncan’s bond was set at $150,000.
