BATON ROUGE — One person died and three others were transported to a hospital after a fiery crash into a bank Friday.
Baton Rouge Police have identified the deceased as John Snowden, 62.
BRPD says the fiery crash happened around 11 a.m. at the Chase Bank on Airline Hwy. and Greenwell St.
Officials say Snowden was driving west on Greenwell St. when he went through the Airline Hwy. intersection into the Chase Bank parking lot.
That’s when police say Snowden crashed into two parked vehicles in the parking lot before crashing into the front of the bank. After the crash, the truck went up in flames and Snowden could not make it out.
The Chase Bank was open and occupied at the time of the crash. Three people were transported to an area hospital for some burns. Four others were treated on scene and released to go home.
The bank has been deemed a total loss and is shut down.
