Overnight BR Interstate 10 shooting leaves one injured

BATON ROUGE — It was around 4:30am on May 6 when a victim said he was shot while driving on Interstate 10 in Baton Rouge.

Specifically, it happened on I-10 eastbound between the Acadian Thruway and College Dr. exits on the interstate.

Early reports indicate a vehicle pulled up alongside the driver and opened fire. As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.

The driver of the vehicle who took the shots was injured and transported to a hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

He left his vehicle on a ramp off of Interstate 10 where officials found it when they responded to the shooting scene.

The most recent interstate shooting prior to this morning was in February where a mother was shot and killed while heading back home.
