CENTRAL — The Central Police Dept. continues investigating an overnight deadly crash that left a 48-yr-old man dead.

It happened on Greenwell Springs Road and Frenchtown Rd. before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7.

Central Police said it was a single vehicle accident that involved a fatality. Aldrick Griffin, 48, of Central was driving a black Lexus east on Greenwell Springs Road when police say he veered off the roadway for reasons unknown at the time.

Griffin then hit the traffic light pole disabling all traffic signals.

It’s unknown at this time if impairment is a factor in the crash or not, but speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to Central PD. Toxicology results are pending.
