Overnight I-12 wreck ejects, kills passenger

A deadly wreck overnight on Interstate 12 near Essen Ln. left a passenger dead and the driver of a pick-up truck in stable condition.

The wreck happened on Nov. 14th early Monday around 2:30am on I-12 eastbound involving an 18-wheeler and pick-up truck. The big rig was stopped on the side of the interstate when the pick-up crashed into the back of the truck. That impact forced the pick-up to overturn ejecting the two people, the driver and passenger.

The passenger of the pick-up died in the crash. The driver of the pick-up was also transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

The impact from the crash was so severe the roof of the pick-up peeled back.

It’s unclear if the pick-up occupants were buckled or not.
