ASSUMPTION PARISH — A Paincourtville man is behind bars charged with felony possession of a gun, along with speeding.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon says Fabian Jones, 26, was pulled over by an ununiformed deputy because of a traffic violation.
Jones told a deputy that he had a firearm in the vehicle following the stop.
After retrieving the firearm, the deputy conducted a criminal record check on Jones and discovered he had been convicted of a felony at one point, meaning he couldn’t possess a firearm.
Jones is being held at the Assumption Parish Detention Center.
