Parents accused of murdering 8-week-old son

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has arrested Analise Bussone Noehl, 33, & John Franklin Noehl, 35, and charged each with one count of first degree murder of their own 8-week-old son.

Deputies responded to the Ochsner Hospital on May 24, 2022 after an 8-week-old boy was transported to the hospital unresponsive from Meadow Ridge Dr. and was in critical condition.

The father, John Noehl told officials he was on the back patio playing with the infant and his 2-yr-old son. After feeding the infant, Noehl said he took him inside and put him in a bouncing baby rocker. He said he then walked outside and when he went back inside, he found the 8-week-old “wheezing, gasping for air, then becoming unresponsive.” He said he attempted CPR until EMS arrived.

The mother, Analise Noehl, said she was asleep during the incident and her husband woke her up.

The couple told deputies that when the baby was about four weeks old, he fell out of his portable bounce rocker in front of them but that they did not take him to get medically checked out, treated or evaluated for possible injuries.

Hospital staff told law enforcement the baby had a “skull fracture, internal bleeding, fixed pupils, intracranial hemorrhaging, rib fractures, and visible bruising to the infant’s lower back.” They added the rib fractures had calcium deposits starting to build up and the injuries were in the healing stage. The hospital staff said those injuries happened 14-28 days prior. It’s why the baby was transported to the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.

On May 27, 2022, Children’s Hospital in NO said the 8-wk-old died from his injuries. They added the infant’s injuries “were consistent with non-accidental trauma.”

The infant’s body went to the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office where a pathologist said the baby had a 5.1 inch skull fracture to the right side of his head. Plus, the infant had three broken ribs on his right side and two broken ribs on his left side. The pathologist agreed and said the fractured ribs were old injuries but that the skull fracture was a recent injury. It’s why the baby’s cause of death was ruled a homicide.

On June 1, 2022, the 8-week-old’s parents were both arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
