ATLANTA — Two Delta Air Lines planes, including one bound for Lafayette, collided while taxiing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, resulting in damage to both aircraft.
Endeavor Air Flight 5526, en route to Lafayette on Tuesday, was struck by Delta Air Lines Flight 295, which was headed to Tokyo. The incident occurred as Delta Flight 295 was taxiing for departure, and its wingtip hit the tail of the Endeavor flight at the intersection of taxiways E and H, according to airport officials.
“There have been no reported injuries at this time and customers are being transported back to the terminal where they will be reaccommodated on alternate flights,” Delta said in a statement. “There were 221 customers on DL295 and 56 customers on DL5526. At this time, no additional operational adjustments are expected.”
