PLAQUEMINE — As of Friday afternoon, the boil water advisory for the City of Plaquemine has now been lifted from the Louisiana Dept. of Health. The city issued the advisory on Wednesday afternoon for the area from Barrow St. south to St. Louis Rd.
The boil water advisory was issued after a main water line broke, officials said. That line was fixed but samples had to show the water was safe to consume and use before officials could lift the advisory. Those samples cleared the Louisiana Dept. of Health’s requirements on Friday.
The preliminary cause appears to be a small water line coming from the main line, that failed, leading to the boil water advisory in Plaquemine.
