Plaquemine man killed in overnight crash in Iberville Parish

PLAQUEMINE, La. — Louisiana State Police troopers are investigating a deadly crash in which a 53-year-old Plaquemine man died.

It was just before midnight on March 3, 2024 when troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA Hwy. 75 west of LA Hwy. 992-3 in Iberville Parish. 

Arvin S. Woodfork, 53, of Plaquemine, died in the crash.

The preliminary investigation reveals that Woodfork was headed west on LA Hwy 75 in a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. For unknown reasons, Woodford left the roadway to the left. After leaving the roadway, the car went into a ditch and hit a culvert before coming to rest in a field.

Woodfork was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. While impairment is unknown, standard toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis.

It’s unknown at this time if Woodfork was buckled or not, per State Police.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
