Plaquemine: One dead after multiple shots fired

PLAQUEMINE —- Plaquemine Police officers are investigating a shooting that left Jahiem Gailes, 22, dead.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. on Bourgogne St. in Plaquemine, between Levy & Marshal streets.

Plaquemine Police Chief Stephen Engolio says their investigation so far reveals Rashad Seals allegedly walked up to Gailes’ home and started shooting. Gailes happened to be standing outside his home and was hit by one of the multiple rounds fired off.

Plaquemine Police are actively looking for Seals, who currently has a warrant out for his arrest for second degree murder. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to call Plaquemine Police, Iberville Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP.
