Pointe Coupee: 190 E. shut down after two 18-wheelers collided

Hwy. 190 eastbound in Pointe Coupee Parish remains closed after two big rigs collided around 3am on April 28, 2022.

The wreck is on the 4-mile bridge near Krotz Springs with traffic at a complete standstill.

No injuries were reported but there was extensive damage to both 18-wheelers as well as debris on the roadway.

It’s why 190 eastbound is expected to remain closed for several hours as crews offload the big rigs and clean up the debris.

An alternate route will be Interstate 10.
