POINTE COUPEE PARISH — A dispatcher was arrested earlier this week, accused of tracking down another staff member and then sending a deputy to their location after the employee did not show up to relieve her.
Ashlie LeBlanc, 35, of Port Allen, was arrested on August 27, 2025 and charged with malfeasance in office, obstruction of justice and unlawful use of a cellular tracking device. UWK has learned she resigned from her position as dispatcher for Pointe Coupee Parish while on administrative leave.
The arrest goes back to an incident from June 15, 2025. UWK has learned that LeBlanc was supposed to have someone relieve her at work, but the coworker assigned to take over called in sick. That’s when LeBlanc is accused of contacting a phone company, and falsely claiming the coworker’s family had reported her missing, and she needed her location immediately.
After she learned the woman’s location, LeBlanc allegedly asked a Pointe Coupee deputy to conduct a wellness check at her location, as she wanted to learn why the employee did not show up to work.
The deputy sent to conduct the welfare check has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office’s investigation had been ongoing since the alleged incident. It’s why she has now been arrested and resigned since then. She has also since bonded out.
