Pointe Coupee deputies arrest man after overnight search in Livonia

LIVONIA, La. — The Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a man Tuesday morning after an all-night search.

Livonia Police say they initiated a traffic stop close to Reliable Ln. Monday night. They say the suspect had active warrants from another agency and fled to a nearby field during that traffic stop.

The Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office issued a warning Monday night to residents in the area to be on alert. They joined the search along with Louisiana State Police, the Angola Search Team and a drone pilot from fire district #3.

After searching for a while, the search moved towards Hwy 411. Just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Pointe Coupee Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that they have arrested the suspect.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
