Police arrest tenant for allegedly shooting, killing man who knocked on door overnight

BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police officers and the U.S. Marshals have arrested a 38-year-old man for a deadly shooting on May 30.

Andrew Joseph, 38, of Baton Rouge, is charged with the second-degree murder of Tyron Warren, 23, of Zachary.

It was May 30 around 1 a.m. when BRPD officers responded to the Hidden Pointe Apartments off Wentling Ave. This is near Jefferson Hwy. and Airline Hwy. behind Parkview Baptist.

Sources tell Unfiltered With Kiran that a man and a woman were looking for their friend but did not know which specific apartment the person was in so they were knocking on various doors.

Joseph was in one of the apartments the duo knocked on. Warren and the tenant got into an argument that led to the tenant shooting Warren several times, including in the head. Warren died at the scene and the tenant is accused of fleeing the scene.

Officers then got a warrant for Joseph and he was arrested on July 11.
