Police chase leads to arrest of sex offender

It was around 2am on Sept 28th when Denham Springs Police Officers tried to stop a Dodge Ram pickup near South Range Ave and US 190.

The stop was for traffic violations. The driver of the truck did not stop. Instead, officers say he disregarded the posted speed limit on South Range Ave into the Plantation Estates subdivision, where the Livingston Parish Sheriffs Office assisted.

The suspect vehicle was involved in a single vehicle crash where the driver, Joseph Gauthier of Denham Springs, was arrested for multiple charges: license plate lights required, aggravated flight from an officer, driving under suspension, hit and run, and fugitive from EBRSO and LPSO for failure to register as a sex offender.

Two occupants of the vehicle were transported for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the crash.
