Boyfriend arrested after woman found stabbed to death in bed

BATON ROUGE — The live-in boyfriend of a 54-year-old woman has been arrested after she was found dead in her bed, allegedly stabbed by the boyfriend.

Garry Miles, 66, was arrested after his release from the hospital and is now charged in Faun Reese’s murder.

Reese, 54, was found dead inside her home on Cypress Ave. on Aug. 25 around 2:50 p.m. Detectives say she was found inside the home, with an autopsy confirming she died from a stab wound to her neck. Miles was also found inside the home, still conscious and was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

It appears Miles may have stabbed his long-term girlfriend and then took several pills to end his own life. He was taken to a hospital for an overdose.

Miles has been arrested numerous times for violating a protective order to prevent domestic violence in California.

Miles was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons.
