Police investigating possible human remains found in Baton Rouge

Crews working near a canal on Perkins Road and Congress Blvd. reported what they thought to be a human skull on Thursday.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Baton Rouge Police officers are investigating what appears to be human remains.

Crews working near a canal at Perkins Road and Congress Blvd. on Thursday, January 25 around 10 a.m. reported what they thought to be a human skull.

Officials confirm the remains are believed to be of a human but it is too soon to identify the person. The LSU Faces Lab was also at the scene alongside BRPD officers.

Baton Rouge Police officers are investigating what appears to be human remains.

A few bones and a skull are were reportedly found along the canal in Baton Rouge.
