BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police arrested a man they say was involved in the deadly shooting of a 32-year-old man on N 49th Street in Baton Rouge on March 11. Baton Rouge Police Homicide detectives and BRPD officers arrested 40-year-old Princeton Oliver on March 21.
According to BRPD, the shooting happened around 2:40 a.m. on March 11 in the 1000 block of N 49th Street. Johnathan Archille was shot multiple times after having a verbal argument with the suspect. The shooting suspect, now identified as Oliver, ran from the scene before officers arrived.
Archille was pronounced dead at the scene.
Oliver was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for 2nd degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and illegal use of a weapon. He has an arrest history that includes simple burglary, manslaughter, resisting an officer, and monetary instrument abuse.
