Police pursuit leads to the arrest of 4 Texas juveniles in WBR

PORT ALLEN- Four juveniles were arrested in Port Allen Thursday morning after allegedly stealing a car from Texas according to the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

WBRSO Spokesperson Sgt. Landon Groger said that just before 8:30 a.m., West Baton Rouge Parish deputies were contacted by a vehicle owner who advised that he was tracking his vehicle that was stolen from Smith County Texas.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle near Love’s Truck Stop on Lobdell Highway. Officials say the 15-year-old driver led deputies on a brief pursuit that ended in Port Allen city limits.

Groger said the driver of the stolen vehicle was accompanied by three other juveniles from Texas aged 12, 13, and 14.

The West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is working with Smith County officials to transfer the juveniles to Texas.
