PORT ALLEN — West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a woman’s body found in a pond behind a home.
She has been identified as Wanda Skipper, 59, of Port Allen.
It was around 11 a.m. when deputies responded to a home in the 8200 block of Section Rd. in Port Allen. Deputies were there to gather information on a potential missing woman, Wanda Skipper. In the process of meeting with her family and gathering information, other family members noticed something in the nearby pond.
That’s when deputies learned the woman, who the family was trying to report as missing, was found in the pond. An autopsy will be completed to confirm the cause and manner of death.
WBRSO says they have no ruled out foul play, but the autopsy is pending.
