Port Allen: Wreck involving fully loaded school bus and ambulance leaves some with minor injuries

PORT ALLEN —- Police and paramedics responded to Court near S. 14th streets around 7:19 a.m. for a crash involving a school bus and an Acadian ambulance.

There were about 39 children on the bus. Three children had minor injuries and were transported to a hospital.

Officials say several others had “very minor” injuries and they were put on another bus to continue going to school, Cohn Elementary & Port Allen Middle, or their parents picked them up.

Thankfully, there were no major injuries. It’s unclear at this time what led up to the wreck.

Port Allen Police is investigating the crash.
