BATON ROUGE — A portion of Evangeline St. is closed after a bucket truck was on fire and one person fell from the truck, UWK has learned.
Around 11:45 a.m., the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a call of a person on fire at Evangeline and N. Foster.
Sources tell UWK that a man who was in the lift of a bucket truck fell around 20 feet after the truck caught on fire.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
Sources say a mechanical issue is believed to be the cause of the fire in the truck.
Evangeline St. is currently closed to traffic between N. Foster and Elm Drive.
