ASCENSION PARISH — A Prairieville man will face prison time and castration after he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of second-degree rape, indecent behavior, and pornography of juveniles.
Last week, Douglas Decuir, 44, of Prairieville pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with a 2021 investigation by the Gonzales Police Department. His guilty plea was part of a plea deal with prosecutors, per the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Decuir is convicted of two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, and two counts of pornography involving juveniles with victim under 13.
In Sept. 2021, Gonzales Police officers responded to a home in response to a possible sexual assault. Once they arrived, officers spoke with an individual who gave information that girls said they had been sexually assaulted by someone who knew their family. Detectives began an investigation and the juvenile victims gave detailed accounts to the forensic interviewers.
Based on the interviews and other evidence, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Decuir, who was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail with a bond set at $1,600,000.
Based on the plea deal, Decuir was sentenced to 30 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, per the DA’s office. In addition, Decuir has agreed to surgical castration, which will be administered by a licensed physical with the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. Decuir must also register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life.
