ASCENSION PARISH — A Prairieville man was arrested for two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, among other charges, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Department.
A press release says APSO deputies responded to a shooting on Camden Drive in Prairieville on Nov. 22. Deputies discovered two victims who had been shot at but were unharmed. 32-year-old Christopher Hendricks of Prairieville was identified as a suspect. After detectives located Hendricks at his home on Nov. 25, Hendricks fled deputies, side-swiping a marked patrol unit in the process. Following a short pursuit, Hendricks was apprehended along Burnside Ave. in Gonzales.
He was booked into Ascension Parish Jail.
Hendricks is being charged with:
- 2 counts of attempted first-degree murder.
- 2 counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
- Illegal use of a weapon.
- Aggravated criminal damage to property.
- Possession of firearm or carrying a concealed weapons by a person convicted of certain felonies.
- Aggravated flight from an officer.
- Reckless operation
- Hit and run
- Three counts of criminal trespassing
- resisting an officer
