Prairieville Walk-On’s hosting giveback for Allie Rice all day today

PRAIRIEVILLE — Walk-On’s in Prairieville is hosting its 2nd Annual Allison Rice Giveback Night on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Sept. 16 marked one year since Allie Rice, 21, was shot and killed while trying to return to her home on campus at LSU.

Ten percent of the proceeds all day on Tuesday will go to the Allison Rice Foundation. Last year, the event raised over $3,000.

Walk-On’s officials say cash donations will also be accepted. There will be inflatables for kids to play in throughout the day.

The restaurant is open frrom 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Rice was a senior majoring in marketing from Geismar. The shooting happened in the 1500 block of Government St. around 2:20 a.m. after several shots were fired. Sources said Rice was leaving after hanging out with friends in mid-city.

Rice died inside her SUV in the middle of the roadway after she was shot multiple times. Her SUV also had numerous bullet holes.

Despite a $55,000 reward for information on her murder, a year later, the case has gone cold with few leads.
