BATON ROUGE — Jeremiah Taylor has now been accused of a fourth rape that predates the other charges against him, according to an arrest warrant.
The warrant, signed Tuesday afternoon, charges Taylor with a 2023 rape in which his DNA was found on the victim.
Taylor, 22, was arrested last Friday in the rape of a 94-year-old woman.
The previous crime happened June 1, 2023, at the same address as two 2024 rapes. The warrant does not indicate whether the 2023 crime involves the same victim.
The victim in the 2023 case got a medical exam, in which a specialized rape evidence collection kit was used, after the attack. The warrant notes that the woman had a bite mark on her breast. DNA samples taken from her genitals and anus matched Taylor’s DNA, the warrant said.
The warrant said that an officer was “reassigned to further investigate” the report on Tuesday.
On Monday, District Attorney Hillar Moore said his office was again pursuing the previously-dropped 2024 rape cases. He said the cases were dropped in January because his office was unable to locate the victim.
Taylor, 22, was arrested Friday in the rape of a 94-year-old woman.
When prosecutors dismissed the charges in January, they did so in a way that allowed the case to be pursued again if the victim was located.
“I personally have since spoken with the victim and her family. She is more than willing to cooperate and come forward at all future court proceedings,” Moore said.
Taylor was released from jail on January 12, 2026, after the charges were dismissed. However, a protective order tied to that case prohibited him from going to the woman’s home. According to an arrest warrant, Taylor went to the home within hours of his release in January and tried to get inside.
The woman reported the attempt to police on January 13.
Police later obtained a warrant for Taylor’s arrest for violating the protective order. The warrant was signed at 9 p.m. on March 5.
That same day, police said Taylor raped a 94-year-old woman. He was arrested March 6 in that case and also taken into custody on the warrant for violating the proective order.
Moore said prosecutors are now pursuing both the recent rape case and the 2024 rape allegations “aggressively,” calling the latest case “deeply disturbing” and saying it “shocks the conscience of our entire community.”
Police did not immediately respond to questions from UWK about why the protective order violation was not acted on sooner. The warrant states Taylor was not at the home when officers first responded.
