Pursuit spanning two parishes ends with driver arrested

BATON ROUGE —- Baton Rouge Police officers were involved in a pursuit that went into West Baton Rouge Parish and ended with the driver arrested.

It started on Sherwood Forest Blvd. & Boardwalk when officers tried to stop a black Honda Accord for an illegal tint. The driver instead, got on I-12 west around 4:30pm in Baton Rouge. During the pursuit, officers learned the vehicle had a switched license plate from another vehicle.

The driver then went into West Baton Rouge Parish where BRPD requested assistance from the WBRSO, but the driver turned around and drove over the old Mississippi River bridge back into East Baton Rouge Parish.

The pursuit ended at a gas station near Greenwell Springs Rd. & Joor Rd.

BRPD have one person in custody.

There is a very large scene as officers canvas the area looking for evidence the driver may have tossed out while he was being pursued by officers. The driver is said to have tossed out bags and even a gun while driving.

4 Comments on Pursuit spanning two parishes ends with driver arrested

    • He fled from cops across two parishes and likely threw out drugs and a gun which may or may not have been legally carried or owned. The story didn’t indicate he had been “caged for five days and nights”, I’m assuming you know that from other sources. But if that is true, I can’t see why anyone would have a problem with it. I would expect to be locked up if I did the same.

      • I was referring to MY being tossed in a cage for contempt of cop in East Feliciana parish, something Kiran just cannot comprehend is a NEWS STORY
You Tube is chocker block FULL of such stories, SOME of which result in hefty civil rights settlements.
