A St. Amant man was arrested in Tangipahoa Parish after a a pursuit that lasted at least 30 miles and for nearly half an hour.
Tregg Babin, 54, was wanted for felony warrants out of Ascension & St. Tammany parishes.
Livingston Parish Sheriff’s deputies attempted to make a traffic stop somewhere in Walker, but Babin refused to stop. That’s when the pursuit started with Babin taking 190 into the Hammond area.
Witnesses tell UWK the pursuit even got on I-55 and I-12 at some point with additional agencies joining to assist.
Babin eventually did stop on S. Airport Rd. in Hammond, where he was taken into custody without incident.
He was booked into Tangipahoa where he must first face charges and then will be transported to Livingston Parish, where he would face charges for any incidents in the parish.
LPSO said he would be facing traffic violations & possible other charges in the parish.
It’s unclear what the original felony warrants from Ascension & St. Tammany parishes were for.
