ASCENSION PARISH — The Ascension Parish School Board announced the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for three high school construction projects. The events are scheduled for East Ascension High School, Prairieville High School, and Donaldsonville High School on July 12, July 18, and August 6, 2024.
The construction projects are part of the $140 million school construction bond projects approved by voters in 2020. These bonds have enabled the district to make advancements in expanding educational facilities.
East Ascension High’s grand opening was held on July 12th. (Watch ceremony now). It celebrated the completion of the new two-story main academic building at East Ascension High School. This facility features a new entrance, a grand staircase, administration offices, and a courtyard.
Prairieville High School Grand Opening

Prairieville High School will host its grand opening ceremony a few days later. This event marks the opening of a brand new high school built to provide modern educational facilities and resources to the Prairieville community.
Donaldsonville High School Grand Opening
- Date: August 6, 2024
- Time: 5:00 PM
- Location: 100 Tiger Dr, Donaldsonville, LA 70346
The final ribbon-cutting event will take place at Donaldsonville High School. This ceremony will celebrate the upgrades and improvements made to the existing school facilities, bringing them up to the standards of other Ascension Parish schools.
