Ruby Slipper shows support for federal employees with free meal offer

BATON ROUGE — If you’re a federal employee impacted by the ongoing government shutdown, you can get a free meal at Ruby Slipper.

The popular breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot is offering federal employees a free meal every Monday through Friday in October.

In a Facebook Post, the restaurant said, “At Ruby, one of our guiding principles is being neighborly – to our guests, our communities, and each other. In that spirit, we’re inviting all federal employees affected by the government shutdown to come dine with us.”

You must show your federal ID to qualify and you can get a free entrée up to $20 in value.

The offer is available at all of Ruby Slipper’s locations, including Baton Rouge on Perkins Road.

The restaurant also provided federal employees a free meal during the 2019 government shutdown.
