Rust wins seat on EBR Parish School Board

Nathan Rust unseated incumbent Jill Dyason Tuesday night to represent District 6 on the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board.

Rust edged Dyason with 57 percent of the 15,831 possible votes, according to the secretary of state website.

Dyason held the seat for over two decades.

“I am humbled by the overwhelming support from the people of District 6,” Russ said in a news Wednesday, Nov. 9. “I am energized by the reception I have had throughout the past four months, and I am thankful to those who engaged in an honest and open dialogue with me about our schools and building our future together.

“I want to thank Ms. Jill Dyason for her years of service to our community,” he added. “She ran a strong race and put forth the effort she promised. I appreciate her commitment to letting voters speak for themselves.”
