BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police Homicide detectives have arrested two people in connection with a fatal shooting on Scenic Hwy. last week.
The shooting happened April 3 around 3 p.m. in the 7800 block of Scenic Highway. Roderick Williams, 41, died as a result of his injuries.
Daveon Anderson, 24, and Jaylynn Shampine, 20, were arrested for their involvement in the shooting, per BRPD. They were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for a charge of 2nd Degree Murder.
Anderson has a criminal arrest history of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Damage to Property, according to BRPD.

Baton Rouge Police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened on Friday and left one person dead from their injuries.
According to BRPD, the shooting happened Friday, April 3, close to 3 p.m. in the 7800 block of Scenic Highway. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Roderick Williams, was shot multiple times after a verbal argument with an unknown man, per police.
Williams was transported to a local hospital, but later died of his injuries.
