School bus hits child after driver says a vehicle was chasing, shooting at bus

BATON ROUGE — A 7-yr-old child was rushed to a hospital after a school bus hit the young boy, allegedly due to someone shooting at the school bus.

It happened around 6pm on Sherwood St., near Plank Rd., on Wednesday, Aug. 9 in Baton Rouge.

Officials confirm to Unfiltered with Kiran that a child was riding a bicycle when he was hit by the school bus. Bystanders rushed the child to a nearby urgent care. When paramedics arrived, they took the child from the urgent care to a hospital. His current condition is unknown at this time.

Meanwhile, sources tell UWK that the bus driver said a vehicle was chasing her school bus with the occupants possibly even shooting at the bus.

It’s unclear at this time why the occupants of that vehicle were chasing the school bus or even shooting at the bus.

Officials say no one else was injured. It’s unknown at this time if any arrests were made or if anyone will be facing any charges.
