Two Baton Rouge schools were placed on lockdown Tuesday after a robbery suspect allegedly fled a stolen vehicle on foot, according to authorities.
Officials say the stolen vehicle was located at Take 5 Oil Change on Oneal Lane at around 11:30 a.m. Authorities say a male suspect left the vehicle on foot and ran into a nearby neighborhood.
According to law enforcement, he was last seen jumping a fence near Elkwood Drive. Wedgewood Elementary and Southeast Middle were placed on lockdown.
The lockdowns were lifted at around 12:35 p.m. Authorities have a helicopter searching the area for the suspect.
