Shooter opens fire overnight on Baton Rouge interstate

The third interstate shooting in Baton Rouge in five weeks is under investigation.

Two people were driving on I-110 southbound near Fuqua St. on Jan. 23rd when they told officers someone opened fire around midnight.

The occupant(s) of a Honda Accord fired about 20 rounds hitting the victim, a man in his 50s, and his passenger.

The two did take themselves to a Baton Rouge hospital after they were hit by some of the bullets.

Their condition conditions are unknown at this time.

The latest overnight interstate shooting comes less than two weeks after the last shooting on I-110. In that case, a man in his 70s was shot while driving down the interstate in Baton Rouge.

In Dec. 2022, a man was found dead after another interstate shooting on I-110.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-STOP or submit an online tip anonymously.
