Shooting victim hid out till it was safe to go to hospital

Baton Rouge police officers responded to a local hospital in Baton Rouge for a man who said he had been shot.

He told officers that several people tried to get him to stop at an intersection in Baton Rouge in the middle of the night around 4:30am on North St.

When he refused to stop, he told officers that the suspects shot at him. It’s unclear if the man was in a vehicle or on foot.

That’s when the victim ran off and hid under a home until he felt it was safe enough to go to a hospital.

It was nearly four hours later when the victim went to a hospital around 8:30am.

He took a bullet to the leg.
