BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge police are investigating an overnight break-in at the Baton Rouge River Center, UWK has learned.

Sources tell UWK that police are using nearby surveillance video to track three people believed to be behind the break-in, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. on June 18. Employees working inside the River Center reportedly locked themselves inside an office during the incident.

Sources report that there was tens of thousands of dollars in damage to the River Center.

Although it is difficult to see the masked suspects as they walked through downtown streets, police are hoping to identify them through certain features, including their shoes, clothing, and backpack.

The River Center break-in comes as police investigate a series of vehicle break-ins in the area, including two that happened hours before the River Center incident.

Concerned residents in the area reported two truck break-ins overnight on Tuesday, including one on Royal St. and another on France St. The masked suspects were seen in the area around the same time these break-ins occurred, UWK is told.
