July 16th – Hammond Police Chief Edwin Bergeron said Thursday that his department will have zero tolerance for the kinds of crime that have alarmed residents recently — including a downtown Hammond shooting this past weekend.
The department made 16 arrests in a targeted operation downtown the night after the shooting that injured a 17-year-old boy.
