A White Castle man convicted of failure to register as a sex offender was sentenced to prison. District Attorney Tony Clayton is hoping to get the man classified as a repeat offender, as well.
In June 2026, Dwight W. Thomas of White Castle, was convicted of failure to register as a sex offender in a bench trial. That means a trial without a jury and the judge only listens to the evidence and renders a verdict. This conviction comes after Thomas did not notify the community of his sex offender status when he was released from prison.
